I don't know if you have heard of Chegg or not. It is one of the biggest textbook resale sites. I have heard of the company, but I've never used this site before. On Jun 3, 2014, it announced a $30 million cash acquisition of student tutoring marketplace InstaEDU. InstaEDU is one of the few online tutoring service providers available regardless of location.

I think this acquisition proposal makes sense because InstaEDU now has access to Chegg's 13+ million high school and college students. With the acquisition, it is a win-win situation for both Chegg and InstaEDU to share the user database and resources seamlessly.
I will definitely sign up on InstaEDU as a tutor soon and give it a try. I'll provide my thoughts and feedback about my experience with InstaEDU in the near future, so stay tuned!
This is definitely not a good news for the online tutoring companies out there. For now, I have to say "Wyzant and Tutor Universe, better watch out for this competitor now!"
Side note: My dear fellow tutors, sorry I posted this article late tonight because I was watching "Edge of tomorrow" and "Transformers 4" at the AMC theatre. Both movies were great!
